Most of the preparations are done or still in the midst of being done. Catering has been arranged with Maisarah's maternal relatives. Tents and pelamin (heck I don't know the English word for that), have been booked. Dowry gifts from both sides are in the final phase - I'm sending 7 and receiving 9 (how lucky)! - Thanks Muni, for preparing the dulangs (trays) Door gifts have finally been packed (Thanks Mom, Yeow & Fam Li). Make-up for the bride will be done by Kak Lina.
We've decided to hire a photographer to record this joyous occasion, she's none other than Ayda Khamalrudin of Beautconnection. Maisarah was very much taken by Ayda's 'special' way of capturing the moment and the way each set she takes, weaves a story in itself.
Most of the decorations you will see at the wedding was purchased at SSF, Kota Bharu. The wedding colors are: Bride - red/white, Groom - blue/white.

4 weeks...
... the wedding reception in Subang Jaya.
Mom initially wanted just a small gathering of relatives to officially welcome Maisarah into my house. Somewhere along the line, we decided to also include our friends and colleagues who couldn't make the journey to Kota Bharu too.
What makes this special is - both of us will be decked out in Chinese cheong sam (long gown). Her in striking red, me in blue; both with dragon motifs. From my fitting session last week, the gown I'll be wearing is heavy (and I might be sweating like a pig!)
Catering will be done by Ayah Khir (a relative of Kak Hasnah) of Gulai House. Menu is a fusion of favorite Malay & Chinese dishes.

The akad nikah will take place at Masjid Telipot, Kota Bharu - 11am. Majlis Kesyukuran (thanksgiving) between 12noon - 6pm. Both functions on the same day - 14th March 2009.
